The thermal oxidiser plays a key role in effectively burning-off volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring compliance with stringent environmental regulations for exhaust emissions and supporting the client's sustainability goals.
The challenging nature of the repair was intensified by the tubesheet’s difficult location within a confined, highly dusty environment, significantly increasing operational and health and safety risks for prolonged on-site work.

- Turnbull & Scott implemented a highly effective, innovative off-site solution by designing and manufacturing customised "repair ends" at our factory. This allowed for precision and comprehensive quality control in a controlled environment, reducing on-site risk exposure and operational disruption.
Two skilled engineers from Turnbull & Scott then efficiently completed on-site fitting and welding of 390 bespoke repair ends. This drastically minimised the duration of hazardous on-site activity.
The repaired heat exchanger underwent rigorous testing under operational temperatures of up to 800°C, successfully validating the durability, safety, and effectiveness of the repair.
